I am etc. to acknowledge the receipt of
your letter of the 30th July, No.F.3374/73/10,
regarding the Chinese Telegraph Office in Hongkong,
and to transmit to you for the information of
Mr. Chamberlain a copy of a confidential despatch
from the Governor of Hongkong, in which Sir E. Stulba
expresses the view that this Telegraph Office should
be removed from the Colony as soon as the present
agreement expires,
